How to maintain routine care for your bike?

Care and maintenance are an important factor in helping your motor-bikes last long. Not everyone takes a regular check at their bikes until and unless they breakdown in the middle of the road. However, a little attention on a daily basis is enough to run your bike smooth.

Make it a practice to check your two-wheeler tire pressure and look if they need to be replaced if they have over-inflated or are rendering very less optimal grip. Replace your engine oil frequently to enjoy uninterrupted services because dirty engine oil reduces the engine life and uses more fuel. You should always keep the air-filters clean to prevent the grime from clogging up.

Bring it to your notice that your clutch should be correctly adjusted as an over-tightened clutch consumes more fuel and might slip and make you lose the grip. Your engine needs proper service very often for giving a smooth performance. There are many parts of the engine which need to be cleaned like the carburettor, spark plugs and the choke.

The most important part is the bike’s transmission which renders the smooth show. You must get hold of the best bike chain lube to keep your bike chain well-lubricated all the while and you will also need a bike chain cleaner to remove the stains. If your bike chain is not lubricated by a superior quality bike chain lube then there are high chances of it falling off the sprockets. You must never wash your bike chain with water and use paraffin instead which is a very useful bike chain cleaner.

Checking on your bike’s battery and cleaning it regularly will enhance your bike’s productivity but do not forget to cover the ignition switch unit, ignition coil and silencer by the help of plastic covers before cleaning and always use a microfiber cloth for wiping your bike. To retain its colour and appearance avoid parking it in direct sunlight and prefer in keeping it under a shade.

Your bike’s brakes should be properly positioned so that they hold the tires at proper intervals. Adjust it as it suits you but avoid making your brakes too firm or check if it is losing its grip as it might be risky. Replace the bike’s brake pads and rear brake oil if needed. Lastly, check on the sprockets and replace the driving and driven sprockets along with the chain altogether with a new if necessary. Usually, the sprockets wear out at 40,000 km that is 25,000 miles and it is not recommended to change only a part of the sprocket.

Following these guides will enhance your bike’s life and prevent you from getting bothered by unwanted interruptions on the road. Further, it will give you a promising bike ride that will be worth it after investing so much labour and effort to upkeep your bike.
